Nigeria has 109 senators representing all Nigerians from different segments of the population. although

Nigeria as a nation operates on the premises of democracy where the electorate elects their leaders through the ballot box. 

Due to the large and multi diversity nature of Nigeria, in a bid to give each section a voice,

The 109 senators are elected from the 36 states and divided into 3 senatorial districts while the Federal Capital Territory elects only one senator.

These senators are elected to make good laws for the betterment of their constituents and Nigeria at large.
